Family Therapy
Family therapy is an approach that focuses on improving the dynamics within a family. It seeks to enhance the family's understanding of interaction patterns causing conflict or distress and uncover the root causes of relationship ruptures. This therapy can also allow young family members to express their experiences while enabling caregivers to better understand and respond to them. Successful family therapy aims to reestablish the family as a source of support, providing families with strategies to address challenges independently and strengthen their relationships moving forward.

The following may be some of the reasons for seeking family therapy, though this is not an exhaustive list.

- Improve communication and emotional expression among family members
- Resolve family conflicts and tensions (between parent/child and siblings, for example)
- Strengthen attachment and bond between caregivers/parents and children
- Navigate blended family dynamics- Intergenerational issues (i.e. multiple generations living in one household)
- Support a family member with mental health challenges, substance use, or trauma
- Enhance overall family functioning and relationships
